Ellie

I started having fiddle lessons aged 8 with Heather Anderson, and later with Paul Anderson. When I was 13, I began playing with the Gordon Duncan Experience in Perth and continued this for 3 years. I toured with the Cairngorms Ceilidh Trail in the summer of 2016 and 2017, both years included an exchange project with the Inishowen Traditional Music Project from Donegal, Ireland. For my last year at school, I moved to Plockton High School to attend the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music, this is where I met Corina. In 2017, I was invited to join Hjaltibonhoga – Shetland Fiddlers, playing with them at the 2017 and 2018 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoos as well as the Norwegian Military Tattoo in Oslo in April this year. I now study on the BA Applied Music Course at the University of the Highlands and Islands, alongside Corina. I also regularly play for ceilidhs, leading the band and calling the dances.

Corina

I started playing the harp aged 8, receiving lessons from Jenny Masterson, and later her brother Colin Masterson taught me guitar. When Jenny left Harris, I got lessons from Judy Morrison and then Mischa MacPherson. I also attended the Centre of Excellence in Plockton, for two years, this is where myself and Ellie met, and we began playing together. During my time here, I received lessons from Ingrid Henderson. In 2015, I represented Feis Eilean na Hearadh at Celtic Connections and the Blas Festival, I now tutor at this Feis. In 2016, I was part of the Western Isles Ceilidh trail. When I left school, I also began studying on the Applied Music course with Ellie.
